The Midwest's Only ALL-FEMALE Salsa Band!

Orquesta Kandela is Cincinnati's newest Latin band and the Midwest's only ALL-FEMALE salsa band! With four Latina singers backed by piano, bass, full percussion and horn sections, these ladies keep the dance floor packed with their high-powered salsa rhythms and other popular Latin dance styles.

The members of Orquesta Kandela represent diverse cultural backgrounds: Peruvian, Cuban, Puerto Rican, Brazilian, African-American, Taiwanese and American. The band was started in 2009, made it's debut in 2010, and performs mostly in the Tri-State and Midwest regions.

The Kandela Girls are: Maribel Andrade (lead vocals), Stacie Sandoval (lead vocals), Monica Orejuela (backup vocals), Vanessa Rivera Miranda (backup vocals), Elaine Milazzo (piano, also Sonia Morales), Alix Reynolds (bass), Liz Wu (percussion), Shirly Rodriguez (percussion), Julie Powers (percussion), Audrey Schmid (trumpet), Brenda Flowers (trombone), Jennifer Grantham (sax). Manager and musical director is Victor Velez.
